Why the button is there. Instagram tells an app if someone follows you only after they tap one of its buttons. A comment is not enough. So the check runs on the "I followed" tap, and followers get the link on that same tap.

The check runs on the tap
Instagram tells an app if someone follows you only after they tap one of its buttons or message you. A comment alone is not enough, which is why the DM has the "I followed" button.
One message per comment
Instagram allows one private reply to a comment. The follow question is that reply, and the tap opens the chat, so the link after it arrives.
Not a DM to new followers
Messaging everyone who follows you is a closed Instagram beta, and we don't have it. Here people comment or message you first, then you ask them to follow.
Questions
- How does Chat33 know if someone follows me?
- Instagram tells an app whether someone follows your account only after they message it or tap one of its buttons. So the DM carries an "I followed" button, and Chat33 asks Instagram the moment they tap it. Followers get the link on that same tap.
- Can I give the link only to followers?
- Yes. Set the step to "Only followers go on". Someone who taps "I followed" without following gets a short "Still not following" message with the same two buttons, and the link arrives once Instagram says they follow you. The default, "Send anyway", is a friendly reminder: everyone gets the link after the tap.
- Does the profile open in a browser?
- No. The "Open profile" button opens your profile inside the Instagram app. It slides in over the chat, they tap Follow, and Back takes them straight to the message with the "I followed" button.
- Is this the same as sending a DM to every new follower?
- No. A DM the moment someone follows you is a closed Instagram beta that Chat33 does not have. This step works the other way round: someone comments or messages you first, and you ask them to follow before the link.
- Which accounts does it work on?
- Instagram professional accounts connected to Chat33 with Instagram login. Facebook Pages have no follow check, so a Facebook flow skips the step and carries on.
- What if they tap "I followed" again later?
- Nothing is sent twice. Once someone has received the link, more taps on the same button do nothing for 24 hours.
