Account deletion
Delete your Chat33 account
You can delete your Chat33 account and its data at any time: in the app, on the website, or by email. You don't need the app to do it.
How to delete your account
In the Chat33 app (iPhone and Android)
- Open the app and sign in.
- Go to More, then Settings, Account, Delete account.
- Type DELETE to confirm.
On the website
- Sign in at chat33.io.
- Open Settings. On the Profile tab, scroll down to Danger Zone.
- Choose Delete my account and confirm with your password, or by typing your email address if your account has no password.
By email
Can't sign in? Email support@chat33.io from the address on your account and ask us to delete it. We confirm the request with you before we delete anything and reply within 30 days.
What happens next
- Your account is scheduled for deletion and you are signed out on every device.
- We email you a link to restore the account. It works for 7 days.
- After 7 days the account is deleted for good, and we email you a confirmation.
- If you are the only member of a workspace with a Chat33 subscription paid on the website, it stops renewing right away and is cancelled when the account is deleted.
- A subscription bought in the App Store or Google Play is not cancelled by deleting your account. Cancel it in your App Store or Google Play subscriptions.
When deletion has to wait
- You are the only owner of a workspace that has other members: make another member an owner, or remove the members, first.
- You manage client workspaces: delete or transfer them, and pay any open charge for them, first.
- A payout to you is still in progress: wait until it completes.
What is deleted
- Your account: name, email address, password, profile picture, sessions and sign-in links to Google and Apple.
- Every workspace you are the only member of, with everything in it: connected channels, posts, media you uploaded, automations, contacts, inbox conversations, campaigns and analytics.
- Access to your connected accounts and sign-in providers. We delete the access tokens we hold, and where we hold a token the platform lets us revoke (for example Google, Meta or Sign in with Apple), we also ask the platform to revoke it.
What is kept, and for how long
- Workspaces you share with other people keep running for their other members, with the posts, automations and contacts in them. Only your membership is removed.
- Invoices and payment records stay with our payment processors (Stripe, and Apple or Google for in-app purchases), which keep them for as long as tax and accounting law requires.
- If you earned affiliate commissions or creator payouts: the record of those amounts and payouts, no longer linked to an account, kept for accounting.
- Security and audit records, such as the record that your account was deleted and past sign-in attempts, which include your email address. We keep them to prevent fraud and abuse and to meet legal obligations.
- Messages already delivered to other people, such as DMs your automations sent, stay in their inboxes on Instagram, Facebook and the other platforms.
